What I Wore to School (5/6/2014)

Today was my absolute favorite weather.  I decided to wear this loose-fitting, dark kawaii-style, dress to compliment the weather.  I love the monochrome look.  Lately, I've been pretty stressed so I haven't been putting so much time into my outfits, so I'm dressing quite casual these days.

I absolutely love the pattern of the dress.

I was a bit hesitant to purchase it at first, though, because it's a loose fitting dress.  I'm used to wearing dressing that look good by cinching at the waist or fitted dresses that are already cinched there.  But it actually comes off as a very youthful and relaxed look in the end, so I'm glad that I did purchase it!

I paired this outfit here with this cute (and insanely cheap) headband.  I actually kinda surprised it hasn't broken or anything yet.  It's sooooo cute, but way cheap. :)  It's basically a small cheap metal rod that sits in waves and has a pattern of tiny crystals and pearls all across.

Overall, I think I was trying to go for some sort of cute look here.  Hey, I tried.

Outfit:
  • Star skater dress: Forever 21
  • Black tights: Macy's
  • Navy cardigan: Macy's
  • Infinity bracelet: Claire's
  • Pearl Headband: dresslink.com
  • Aldo flats: (not shown) simple black flats with frill at opening and silver bow on toe-area(?)

P.S. I apologize for the dirty mirror...I tried to clean it but I failed , so...

:)

Thursday OOTD: Comfy, Cute, and Casual

My room mirror was a bit dirty today, so I decided to take a classic "mirror pic," hehe.

Anyways, this is what I wore to school and out today!  All I have to say, is this: TODAY WAY TOO HOT!  My mostly-black outfit here was probably not the best idea on a day like this.  I was expecting somewhere near 62 degree (Fahrenheit) weather at maximum, but at the end of the school day, it ended up being, like, 75 degrees.  I was burning up.  At least I dressed cute, though.

Outfit:
  • Top: one of my old, typical black v-necks
  • Black jeans: Macy's
  • White Cardigan: Charlotte Russe
  • Mint-Green Heart Circle Scarf: Rue21
  • Tan Slouch Boots: Delia's

On a brighter note, here's a pretty shot I got of some cherry blossom trees that live down the street from me. :)

Shoe Post

Juju Jellies: Juju Babes

Do these shoes not look AMAZING?!?!

...I know, I know; from the first glance, it's like, "Really...? Are those jelly sandals from the 90s?"  Sure, they're reminiscent.  And that's the BEST PART!  It works in perfectly with retro fashion.  But these babies don't only have to be styled in retro.  You could work them into so many styles, be it from floral summer dresses, to lolita fashion, to grunge/punk styles, to trending fashions... basically, like, everything.

And with the right socks, BAM!  They're just so incredibly cute.  It's like... it's like I'm in love.

And they come in SO many great different colors. I just tend gravitate more towards the black, white, and pink Juju Jellies.  Honestly, there hasn't been a color of them I've seen that hasn't worked out.

I need to get myself a pair (or a few) of these ASAP.

What I wore on Tuesday. (4/29/2014)

This is the outfit I wore on the second day of school this week.  I'm always kinda into pairing black with single colors, but this time I just went with a monochrome look with the gray.  I wore a little silver necklace with this as well, but took it off after I got home; because I was in serious need of a power nap (wouldn't want to have that necklace poking into my throat!)

Can this week go any slower? I seriously felt like it was Friday today.  School really drains me.  Maybe it's the gloomy weather again.  Just about one and a half more months of torture!

Outfit

  • Top: H&M
  • Skirt: H&M
  • Belt: Loehmann's (one of my favorite belts I own<3)
  • Leggings: Delia's
  • Shoes(not shown): Black punk boots
  • and the necklace I talked about was a gift :)

My First #OOTD? (Monday 4/28/2014)

I've always been a little nervous when it comes to putting out content on the internet.  But I've finally worked up the nerve to start this little blog here that I'm dedicating to fashion (and cute things).  I'm just a girl who's into clothes and girly things; so not much from the ordinary.  But hey, we like to see as others do through similarities, right?

Anyways, this is what I wore this Monday to school; something casual, girly, and cute.  The weather is warming up here in New York, so I'm hoping to be able to wear light dresses more often!  Although, unfortunately, this week's Tuesday was rainy and gloomy.  Spring, where are you?  Somedays I wonder where you've gone.

Outfit
  • Dress: Mandee
  • Cardigan: Macy's
  • (Not pictured): Navy tights and brown slouch boots
